BBS COMMANDS
This is the list of commands you see when you
use the BBS.
A bort- This command is used to stop actions
pending. It is not an immediate process.
B ye command. Used to quit the BBS connection and
return to your system.
C onnect command. Used to connect to either a
node or a BBS.
D irectory. Used to access the BBS system files.
All commands are basic DOS commands.
Here you can download/upload files using YAPP. On W8IOU (Club BBS) there are extensive files with lots of info.
E dit command. Allows for editing of text.
F Used in conjunction with the D command to
return to BBS commands.
G ateway command. (The BBS must be a gateway for
this command to be active).
H elp command. (You may also use a question mark
?).
I Information about the system. (Location, Grid
Square, etc).
J Lists the last few stations that have
connected.
K Kill messages.
K> (Callsign)
will kill messages to that callsign (SysOp only)
K< (Callsign)
will kill messages from that callsign (SysOp only)
K # will kill the
message you have just read, IF it was addressed to you.
KM will kill all read
messages to you. PLEASE kill messages you have read.
L Lists ALL messages on the board. Careful, this
could take a while. We usually have
4-5 HUNDRED messages.
L> (Call) lists
messages to that callsign (SysOp only)
L< (Call) lists messages from that callsign (SysOp only)
LM (List Mine) Lists
messages to connected station
LS (Subject) lists
messages with that subject in the title line
M Make copy of a message to a file.
M 12345 c:\(folder)
will make a copy of the message in that directory.
MV 12345 c;\(folder)
will make a copy but WILL INCLUDE headers.
O Options: Language, paging, etc
OL Allows
selection of Languages available. Be careful with this one.
OP nn Gives
you the option of having a set number of pages displayed. This is very helpful if you
don't have scroll capability. I would recommend
that not more than 20 pages be selected. This will allow for housekeeping lines.
R Read
R (msg#) reads
message number listed. Cannot be a personal message that is not addressed to you.
RM reads messages
directed to console callsign
R> (call) reads
messages to that call (SysOp only)
R< (call) reads
messages from that call (SysOp only)
S send a message
S (CALL) will send a
message to that callsign. It will NOT be forwarded.
SP send personal
message addressed to another Ham
SP

without full address will work if K3MI is in the White Pages. If not in the WP the message will not be forwarded.
SB (send bulletin)
will send bull only to the BBS where originated
SB @WWW will send
bull World Wide
SB @EU will send
bull to European BBS's only
SB @ALLUSA will direct the bull to ALL BBS's nationwide.
SB @ALLPA will
direct message to Penna BBS's only.
SB SALE @swpa would
send a bulletin selling something to all SWPA BBS's
Be
careful when sending bulls. Know your target area. Selling a 100' tower in California
would not be a good idea. (Shipping costs?)
NOTE:
Your message WILL be held for review by the SysOp. This is to protect the license of the BBS
owner.
T Talk to SysOp This will send a series of dings
to the SysOp. If available he will answer your page and you can go keyboard to
keyboard.
V 12345 (Verbose). Reads the message and shows
all headers.
X Toggles between expert and normal mode. In
Expert mode sign on information is not
sent. (The list of commands a-z, etc).

These additional commands are
available with TERMLG
NOTE: For each of these
commands, ESC will release the function and return to normal screen.
ALT A will display a list of the
Text Key values and first 60 characters of each script. This is used to identify the values stored.
ALT B puts you into the scroll feature of TERMLG. Using either up/down arrows or page up/page down will scroll thru
the message. B will release the
scroll feature. In this mode, you can print,
save to a file, or send to radio
port,
ALT C will clear the screen.
ALT E allows edits of the Text keys and the texts are sent at the start
and end of outside connects. All the
normal edit commands are available in this mode.
ALT F key enter edt mode using a copy of the buffer. In this mode there is
complete editing available for a copy
of the receive buffer. The text may be deleted,
moved, edited and augmented from a file. Parts of the text may be printed, saved to a file, or sent to the
radio port. The changes to this copy of
the receive buffer are NOT saved back to the buffer--it is not altered.
ALT H enters a "help" mode where there are several choices of
help screens. The user may pick one of
several additional help screen topics.

ALT J displays a heard list. This list is maintained using the monitor
channel.
ALT K writes the current TERMLG configuration to the TERMLG.CFG file. This
function is used after there has
been an edit of one or more of the texts or passwords.
If a change has been made and not saved with an ALT-K function the user will be prompted at exit to save
changes.
ALT M toggles the monitor on/off mode. When the monitor is on, the frames received that match the port mask (ALT P
function) will be displayed on the screen.
The state of the monitor is shown on the status line at the bottom of the screen.
ALT P prompts the user to set the monitor port mask. This is a number that
represents a bit map of the
ports. A one bit in a position allows monitoring of the port. A value of 255 is the default allowing all ports to
be seen.
ALT Q disconnects the current channel and returns the user to the switch.
This may be used at any time to force
a disconnect.
ALT R enters file receiver mode. Fikes may be received as an ASCII file
(capture mode) or in a YAPP or
YAPPZIP protocol. More details on the use of file receive will be presented later.
ALT S enters the file send mode. Files may be sent as an ASCII fle or
using YAPP or YAPPZIP protocol. more
details on the use of file send will be presented later.
ALT T toggles an on screen clock that appears in the upper left side of
the screen.
ALT U is used to write the entire receive
buffer to a file. The user is prompted for the
name and path for the file save.If no path is given then the path to TERMLG is used unless it has been changed by
the /P load option.
ALT V puts TERMLG in a mode to receive
connects from the outside. In normal operation
connects to this G8BPQ application are not allowed. This key toggles "CONOK" on/off
There are several restrictions that must be observed.
Connects from outside are allowed on strean A only and strean A and
B must be in the disconnect state.
ALT W allows send or 1 thru 5 edit of passwords. The user is given
the option of sending password 1 through
5 by entering 1 to 5 or editing password 1 through
5 by entering A to E. When sending a password the line just received
(last line added to the buffer) is parsed to get the number for the characters
to be pulled from the password. If a password is changed it may be
saved to the TERMLG.CFG file by using the ALT-K function.
ALT X is used t exit TERNLG. The user will
be prompted to save changes to configuration
if any has been made. Any open connections will be disconnected and the G8BPQ
channels used by TERMLG will be released. The
user is given the option to exit or not exit.
ALT Y is used to set the screen colors. The
change of color screen will show the colors
in use and give a selection of colors.
ALT Z is used to toggle between streams A
and B. The program allows two independent
connects at one time. The current stream is shown on the status line at the
bottom of the screen. The information received from the two streams is shown in
different colors.
F1 to F10 keys send the text key
value associated with that key to the radio port on the selected stream.
SHIFT F1 to SHIFT F10
"runs" scripts 1 to 10. The script may be aborted by the ESC key.
CONTROL F1 to CONTROL F10
allows editing of scripts 1 to 10.
ESC is used to abort scripts, abort YAPP transfers,
and many other functions.
